At Himalayan Hikers, we value your trust. Our rental gear policies are designed to keep your journey safe, fair and transparent. Below you can explore our privacy standards, return rules, terms of use and cancellation guidelines — all crafted to make your renting experience smooth and stress-free.

Privacy Policy

Himalayan Hikers respects your privacy. We collect only essential information such as your name, contact details, and identification required to verify and confirm your gear rentals. Your personal details are never shared with unauthorized third parties. Data is used solely for booking, support, and safety verification. All payments are processed securely through trusted gateways, and we do not store sensitive payment details. Our goal is to safeguard your data while making your rental experience seamless.

Return & Refund Policy

Rented gear must be returned on the agreed date, in the same condition as it was issued, aside from normal wear and tear. All accessories provided (like poles, bags, batteries) should be included at return. Our team inspects gear within 24 hours. In case of damage, repair or replacement costs may be deducted. Cleanliness is also important — excessively soiled or wet gear may invite a small cleaning fee.

Terms & Conditions

By renting from Himalayan Hikers, you agree to use our gear responsibly and for lawful trekking or camping purposes only. Sub-renting or sharing equipment without approval is not allowed. The renter is responsible for loss, theft, or intentional damage to the equipment. Bookings are confirmed upon payment of rental charges and security deposit. Our liability is limited to the value of the rental fees paid — we cannot be held responsible for delays, accidents, or losses during your trek. Please read all terms carefully before booking.

  • Gear to be used lawfully and only by the renter.
  • No sub-renting or unauthorized sharing allowed.
  • Loss, theft, or intentional damage is the renter’s responsibility.
  • Bookings are confirmed with rental fee + security deposit.
  • Our liability is limited to rental fees paid.

Cancellation Policy

We understand trek plans can change. Cancellations made 7+ days before pickup get 75% refund. Within 48 hours to 7 days get 50% refund. No refund within 48 hours.

  • More than 7 days before pickup: 75% refund (minus payment gateway charges).
  • 48 hours to 7 days before pickup: 50% refund of the total amount paid.
  • Within 48 hours of pickup: No refund will be provided, though trek credit may be offered at our discretion.

All refund percentages are calculated after deducting applicable payment gateway charges.
